Work - the central stage

Hi, if you are reading this, I guess you are still pretty free to indulge in excessive luxuries. (such as reading a bo liao blog with bo liao entries) I have been really busy lately, so much so I got no time to go home and I just sleep in the office to save on the travelling time. (ok kidding)

But as I was complaining just one and half month back how free I was, those days have since become a distant memory. Suddenly thrusted into the thick of action, wearing nothing but a 2 piece swimsuit (stop drooling ~~), and armed with only a pen, I went on to calculate and design the biggest project of mankind so far, just slightly smaller in significance than the Pyramids.

That took me 2 weeks.

Scurrying round the office in a manner rats do in a sinking ship, I tried to carry out what was asked of me. You know you are busy when you have to switch off the lights at the end of the day. But sadly, in the corporate world, its results (and a huge dose of bootlicking) that is important. And I am unable to reproduce that (cause I am a male ~~~ lame).

I made an grave error in one of my work on Monday. That could have potentially cost 200k. In the end, it was discovered before any real damage was done... but I started doubting if I am really cut out as an engineer or should I switch to being a stand up comedian who specialise in lame jokes (ok!!! stop giving me the this isnt funny look)

I start to question the functionality of work.... the direction of one career.... and ultimately the meaning of one's life.

Tag and war between colleagues, sucking up to the guys in the rooms with doors, trying hard to smile when you had a bad day is just so not me.

You ask if this will ever come to an end?
